With Kill Bill Volume II not due to be released until February, Quentin Tarantino is already working on his next film, the World War II epic Inglorious Bastards. "If you are a 12-year-old girl or boy, you must go and see 'Kill Bill,' and you will have a damn good time. Boys will have a great time, girls will have a dose of girl power. If you are a cool parent out there, go take your kids to the movie." Tarantino's quote criticised.
##13--okt--2003 - $22.2 million for killing Bill
Kill Bill sold about US$22.2 million worth of tickets in its first three days at cinemas, said its distributor, Miramax Films. That start is easily Tarantino's best. His last two movies, Jackie Brown (1997) and the Oscar-winning Pulp Fiction (1994), each earned about US$9.3 million ($15.4 million) in their first weekends. Well done QT!

##29--sept--2003 - Tarantino Planning Another Break Already
According to WOKR-TV, Quentin Tarantino is planning to take another extended break after the release of comeback double-bill "Kill Bill" - because he want to "live and have a lot sex."
##27--sept--2003 - Two Volumes Criticised
The movie feels incomplete, even though Tarantino has crafted an OK three-act structure with a climatic 20-minute samurai sword battle that will have an audience pining not for more but actually welcoming a four-month break. (Is that good?) Yet, one suspects that halving a movie meant to be seen in a single sitting has upset its stylistic balance. When the two volumes get joined in a DVD version, we may detect a strategy not immediately apparent in "Vol. 1."
Unlike Tarantino's postmodern classic "Pulp Fiction," this movie lacks humor, subtext, unpredictability and the rich dialogue that made that film so memorable. Instead of rethinking genre movies, here he is a slave to them. (Read more)

Bender in Star
Telegram, "And I don't think there are any worries about Quentin's

##03--sept--2003 - Opening credits go Bang Bang
Quentin Tarantino is using Nancy Sinatras version of the song Bang,
Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) for the dramatic opening scene of his two-part Asian
martial arts thriller Kill Bill. Tarantino couples Bang, Bang with an image
of Kill Bills star, Uma Thurman, in full bridal regalia, lying wounded
in a church.
Quote: "I think youll have a hard time hearing that song after seeing
the movie and not thinking about the bride lying in the church. Its the
opening credits. That was in my head six years ago when I first came up with
Kill Bill. Along with the whole story I came up with the idea of using that
in the opening credits." (Source)
##03--sept--2003 - Tarantino addicted to bad movies
Quentin Tarantino has admitted battling depression in the three years since
he made his last film, Jackie Brown. A friend of the filmmaker is quoted in
the magazine as saying Tarantino would become absorbed in watching bad films
on television.
Quote: His eyes would be glued to the tube, he said. You could
be showing him anything a white screen and hed be like a
kid with a pacifier, a lonely boy. It was sad and beautiful at the same time.
